Camping with Children

When we go camping with our two small children, we pack their pyjamas inside their pillow case - it saves hunting around in the suitcases if we arrive late and the children are tired.

If leaving your van on site for a season 2 great things to do with salt - Half fill a bowl with salt and leave it in the middle of the van whilst away, it absorbs moisture so acts as a cheap environmently friendly de-humidifier. Also to help keep your salt in the salt shaker from going hard just add ricce so it keeps it loose when shaking.
Is your breakaway cable too long?

When you have hitched up your caravan and attached your breakaway cable, if it's too long and catches the floor, tie it up with a cable tie very loosely so it can move through it. You won't have to keep replacing it and there won't be any danger of your cable breaking away when you don't want it to.
Awning Zips
If zips on your awning leak use a candle rubbed on the teeth to waterproof it.
Stop sun damage to your tyres

To stop sun damage to your tyres when your caravan is left, place your spare wheel on to a piece of ply wood and cut around it (do this twice), place the wooden circle against your caravan wheels and fix with bungie cords.
