Hold a snake or tarantula in the Tropical Hall and visit the amazing puppet show and aquarium. Outside play for hours on the full-size pirate ships and play with the animals all around the grounds.

Dunster Castle is the historic home of the Luttrell family located in the small town of Dunster.  Visit the castle and walk through the dramatic gardens and see how people lived in days gone by. 

Dawlish Carnival

9th - 16th August 2008

Dawlish Carnival

Dawlish Carnival Week is the largest and longest event of its kind in South Devon. The 8 day event will be packed with displays, competitions and exhibitions. Enjoy activities such as Nightly Bingo, Clay Modelling and numerous entertainers. With something for everyone, this is guaranteed to be a great family day out. The 2008 procession will take place on Thursday 14th August 2008.

Come and see the International Woodcarving Festival set in the beautiful surroundings of Dunster Castle. A unique and fascinating event which enables spectators to watch and marvel as skilled sculptors from all over the world carve magnificent designs.

West Somerset Railway Steam Gala

Steam Gala

The event will celebrate the much-loved Somerset and Dorset Railway which closed in March 1966. Up to ten engines – of classes typical of the Somerset and Dorset in times gone by are expected to be at the Gala, the majority of which are being brought in for the event.

Come and see the witches and wizards Halloween special late October. While your there take a walk down dinosaur valley and have a look round the caves museum. See if you can find the Wookey witch.
